The weather went suddenly worse and now it’s rainy and cold again. I’m a bit sad for it, especially because I’d just like to spend these dark days under my blanket waiting for any sunshine…
Anyway, we had the Field trip again last weekend and it was a blast. We had a nice evening, too, and we didn’t have to go outside since some elite university from Soul had reserved the bornfire before us. Although I think that everyone was just happy to avoid the freezing mountain night. We also went to Hyundai Heavy Industries where they are using some Finnish software in the machinery (cool, isn’t it?) and after that straight to Hyundai Motors to check out the newest Hyundai cuties.
Mom, dad: I picked my summer car…

…and bought some vehicles for souvenirs, too:

(Don’t be mad at me, but I asked Hyundai to send the bill to you…) ^_^
Strawberries
The coolest thing in Korea right now is the invasion of cheap and huge strawberries! I know, cherry blossoms are blooming and so, but they are nothing compared to more culinaristic pleasures! I’ve been eating kilos of those supersweet berries during last weeks and finally I had to make a bag to carry them home from the market:
Nevermind what YOU do.
I strawberry NY!

Hey, guess where most of us are coming again? Yes, that’s right, we’re going to do the bus trip to Pohang and Ulsan again! And that’s going to be even more crazy, fun and wild since there is spring in the air and this time we have some glue how to prepare ourselves.
I actually started to train my liver to be in a good shape yesterday, when several brutal individuals (who called themselves as “friends”) dragged me to one of those “hof & soju” restaurants with them. Well, soju was good (as always, especially mixed with kiwi and mango juices) and we stayed up pretty late. I think I was still happily tipsy, or something, today at school and definitely proud of myself not to have any signs of hangover yet. But as you know, weekend is long and I gonna shop few bottles of red wine for tomorrow to warm the atmosphere cold nights up in the mountains. Cheers!

Finally it’s spring here in Daegu! Probably because of the warm and nice weather we suddenly felt like swimming. Later on, we fortunately we met two Chinese guys who also knew where the nearest pool is and how to get there. Even though don’t really like pools that much I was kind of curious to see what are the pools like here.
Those guys wanted to come as well, and it turned out that that the swimming hall is pretty close to Yukjeon subway station where Home Plus supermarked is located, too. You just need to take the escalator up through Home Plus and when you get outside, you should walk about 100 meters straight forward and the place is there.
The swimming hall is actually identical to the Finnish ones. At first you need to pay yourself in at the counter (2100 won for person – not bad) to get the key for the lockers in the dressing room. The greatest thing was that In a shower room there were even a Finnish style sauna!
On the other hand there were differences, too. Here everyone had to wear a swimming hat and practically everyone else but us had also swimming glasses. Later we found out that the water is so badly treated with all the chemicals and stuff that your eye balls are going to turn bright red as you’ve just visited the wrong store in the herbal marked without those goggels. Anyway, it was fun to swim again though nothing beats the nice and warm Pacific ocean I got used to when I was in Thailand.

I have no idea how I missed it last semester, but there is a whole psy trance scene in Korea. Ok, it’s located in Seoul, of course, but it could be possible to make low-budjed party trips there like this:
One way by the cheapest bus is around 15,000 won. Therefore getting there and back would be only 30,000 won. Entrance fees to the parties depend on the event, of course, but it is usually less than 20,000 won. I’m not going to need a place to sleep since I’ll be stuck on the dance floor, so there’s no need to make things complicated and look for any hostel. Apart from that I’ll should quite ripe for catching the earliest bus back to Daegu next morning if I simply stay up all night.
I’m propably not going to get superhungry on my trip though I’m pretty sure that I’ll feel like few black russians at the party. Coctails cost around 5 k won each here, so if I budjed ~25,000 won for necessary liquids it’s definitely enought to keep me at least happily tipsy the whole night.
Subways in Daegu and Soul are pretty cheap, something like 1,000 won per a trip, so they’re not going to make me bankrupt.
Let’s sum everything up:
15,000 won x 2
+ 20,000 won
+ 25,000 won
+ 5,000 won
= 65,000 won
-> 65,000 won == AFFORTABLE!
So, there’s no excuse why not to go!

I managed to save some of the pictures from China which I accidentally removed right after arriving into Thailand!

It’s Yi Ching and me – fearless travellers ready to explore the unexplored China. Honestly, that one is from Yi Ching’s home.

I and a Korean girl, Bing and some supercute Chinese elementary school students in Yi Chin’s home town. I was probaply the first westener ever visiting the town, so kids started to call me a “barbie girl” because of my blond hair. Bing was way more popular among them, though, ‘cos they were sure she is a Korean popstar or something :)

Sugar cane snack, prepared like this in a Chinese way…

Food! Dinner at home.

It looked like that almost everywhere

Local delicatessen – yummy!

Yi Ching’s parents were lovely! They kindly took us to the bus terminal when we left.

Damn it, It’s over now.
I arrived back in Daegu last Sunday. After that I’ve been struggling with visa affairs and some monetary difficulties (yes, I spent my last reserves and now I’m biting my nails for lunch). Getting back into Korea was kind of adventure as well.
First of all, my journey from Koh Phangan started right after February’s Fullmoon party when I headed to Krabi city (which really is an inland city, not an island as I had thought). Then I stayed for two or three days in Krabi and tried to organize a flight back to Korea as well as find out how to get a new visa to Korea since my previous one had already expired. I didn’t have much time to do anything else than take care of my affairs, but at least I went to snorkling, too, and encouraged myself to try out Thai food at a local day market, which was definitely one of the best meals I’ve had for a long time! (Gotta upload some pictures here)
I’m pretty sorry for all my empty promises to update my blog earlier. But you know, lying on those pearl white beaches, swimming and diving in a crystal clear sea and partying from sunset to sunrise kept me too busy all the time!

The worst tourist attraction in Bangkok – but you still gotta see it and get a photo like this.

And example how to take some rest after first dancing your ass off.

Sheman beats all the ladyboys when it comes to partying, ha!

Looks nice in pictures, for sure, but it was even better irl ;)

The islands near to Krabi town were quite OK, too!

Accidentally in Kuala Lumpur. Just me and that nice reflexion, yeah.
That’s all this time, kids. Let’s see if I’m going to have a visa to stay in Korea longer than just a couple of days. Otherwise this blog is going to get boring soon, hah.
